Your Core Approach & Areas of Focus
My approach is rooted in empowering clients to discover their own inner strengths and resilience. I excel at creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel truly heard and understood. I focus on practical, evidence-based strategies to help clients build coping skills for daily life. I have a strong focus on supporting clients in managing stress and anxiety.
I find my work with young adults discovering their identity particularly rewarding and impactful.
What Guides Your Work?
My approach is grounded in the belief that empowering clients to build resilience and discover their own solutions is key to lasting change. I prioritize being an attentive, compassionate listener while supporting clients in developing consistent self-care practices, such as daily journaling, to help them reflect on the positive aspects of their lives. My previous experience caring for children with disabilities has also shaped my perspective, reinforcing the importance of patience, empathy, and strength-based support in helping clients navigate their challenges.
What Makes Your Support Effective?
I believe my approach is effective because it is grounded in values I’ve carried throughout my life—validating clients’ experiences and challenges while fostering a safe and supportive environment. I focus on helping clients feel seen and heard, allowing them to express themselves freely. I incorporate understanding, the use of healthy coping strategies, and the development of meaningful social interactions to support their emotional growth and resilience.
Your Journey to Providing Mental Wellness Services
As a young adult, caring for and supporting both children and adults as a guardian inspired my interest in mental health. Those early experiences taught me the value of patience and sparked a desire to research and understand how different medical and psychological diagnoses affect individuals. That journey inspired my commitment to this field and deepened my passion for helping others navigate their own mental health challenges.
What You Find Most Rewarding
What I find most rewarding is the opportunity to be a compassionate presence in someone’s healing journey. My faith and the wisdom of my grandmother, who taught me patience and the importance of understanding others without judgment, continue to inspire my approach. It’s deeply fulfilling to know that I’ve helped someone feel less alone, more hopeful, and supported as they work toward healing and growth. Being trusted to walk alongside clients during such a personal process is a true privilege.
Qualifications & Credentials
Beyond Your Credentials
One quality I bring is a deep sense of patience and calmness, which helps create a safe and reassuring space for clients. I genuinely find joy in supporting others, especially in teaching coping skills and encouraging them to find moments of joy and meaning in their daily lives.
I enjoy spending quiet time outdoors, especially walking in nature, which helps me stay grounded and present. I also find joy in music and often encourage clients to explore calming or uplifting songs as part of their self-care. These simple pleasures help me relate to clients in a real and approachable way, reminding them that healing can also come from everyday moments.
Your Unique Strength
One of my greatest strengths is my ability to truly listen—not just to what is said, but also to what remains unspoken. I strive to recognize the emotions beneath the surface and gently hold space for clients to feel safe enough to be vulnerable. Even in the most difficult circumstances, I seek out a thread of hope, helping clients see that healing and possibility still exist.
Off-Duty Well-Being
Spending quality time with my spouse and caring for my plants, my daily prayers help me recharge and stay grounded. Both reflect my values of connection, nurturing, and mindfulness.
